Follow these steps to install OptiFine for Minecraft 26.2:
- 1Run Minecraft 26.2 once in the official Launcher to make sure the version files are downloaded.
- 2Click Download on this page and wait for the OptiFine 26.2 HD U K2 pre1 .jar file.
- 3Double-click the downloaded .jar file — the OptiFine installer opens. Click Install.
- 4Open the Minecraft Launcher and pick the new OptiFine 26.2 profile from the dropdown next to the Play button.
- 5Press Play. Open Options → Video Settings to fine-tune performance and shaders.
About OptiFine for Minecraft 26.2
Minecraft 26.2 "Chaos Cubed" was released on June 16, 2026 as a full game drop for Java Edition. It brings sulfur caves biome, sulfur cubes and cinnabar blocks, an experimental Vulkan renderer. OptiFine 26.2 HD U K2 pre1 is the first official preview for this game version. Shaders do not work yet and this preview is not compatible with Forge.
